Clarity & Priorities Worksheet

Step back from a busy or uncertain season, separate what you can influence from what you cannot, and choose three priorities and one next step.

About 20–30 minutes

How to use this worksheet

  • Find a quiet moment and answer honestly. There are no right answers, and you do not need to fill every line.
  • Write in short, plain sentences. Clarity often comes from naming things simply.
  • Finish with one next step small enough to take within the next 48 hours.

1. Your current situation

Describe where you are now, as factually as you can.

What is taking up most of my time, attention or energy right now?

What feels unclear, unsettled or unfinished?

2. What you can and cannot control

Sort the situation into what is within your influence and what is not.

Within my control or influence:

Your choices, actions, responses, requests and time.

Outside my control:

Other people's decisions, timing, past events, wider circumstances.

What could I let go of, or stop worrying about, for now?

3. Three priorities

Choose the three things that matter most over the coming weeks.

Priority one — and why it matters:

Priority two — and why it matters:

Priority three — and why it matters:

4. One next step

The single next step I will take is:

When I will take it:

How I will know it is done:

Revisit this page in two weeks. Notice what has moved, and adjust your priorities if your circumstances have changed.

A free educational exercise for personal reflection and practical planning.
